Interior design projects on which we are currently working

South Surrey, British Columbia - in design now

This project gives us a chance to  reconnect with clients we have worked with happily in the past.  This  time we are developing plans for a full-rental suite in the walk-out  basement of their city home. This includes a full kitchen installation. Having a suite will allow them peace of  mind while travelling, knowing the home is occupied, and will provide  luxury accommodation with an amazing view and yard for a lucky renter!   The challenge in this project is to achieve the technical  requirements of a legal suite within the constraints of the existing construction of the home.   

Anglemont, British Columbia - in design now

Wait a minute - haven't I seen this  kitchen before?   Rocky Mountain Design is currently working on a  renovation of a kitchen we designed for these clients fifteen years  ago.  These clients love their kitchen and have come to us for an update  to accommodate changes in lifestyle and some new appliances.   So it's  back to the drawing board with this one!

This  is also a lesson in the wisdom of choosing good quality to begin with  and not being too much "on trend".   Many kitchens this age would need a complete kitchen remodel.  This one just needs a bit of re-arranging.

Golden British Columbia - in process now

These clients came to us for some  guidance in their home design.  They have lots of ideas, and have done  some work, but the whole thing wasn't coming together as a unified whole  as they had hoped.  They need some help sorting out what works from  what needs a bit of tweaking.   The fun for me in this project comes  from working on a design that will grow gracefully along with this  growing and very active family.

McMurdo, British Columbia - in design now

Most home designers work from the outside  in: they start with the skeleton of the building and fill in the interior spaces.   At Rocky Mountain Design we work from the inside out -  we plan the spaces that work, and then develop them into an overall  plan.    We are currently working on a whole home design from the ground  up for this lot in McMurdo Estates, near Golden.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico - in design now

One really fun project we are working on  is a small condominium in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico.  Our client is  starting a new and adventurous life there after moving from Vancouver  Island. The interior design project includes a full kitchen remodel.  Our challenge here is that space is at a premium, and the budget is limited, so every inch, and every dollar, counts.  Creative  use of colour and materials are the order of the day with this project.

Adair Log Home - in installation now

Renovating a 170 year old home is full of fun challenges.   Incorporating a wood burning stove, an antique wood burning range, and a new electric induction range into the mix just makes it all the more interesting.   This project is in the installation stage right now.
